SPG Mobile Cutting Table Manufacture & Install — London College Case Study
SPG designs and manufactures mobile cutting tables, cutting tables and classroom desks for education environments across the UK. From fashion colleges to vocational training centres.
Our team completed the installation of 28 cutting tables across the upper floors of a London college building. It was a straightforward brief with one practical challenge: no lift in the building. Every table frame, top, and tool kit was carried up by hand.
The mobile cutting tables were manufactured to a standard specification well-suited to busy college workrooms. 1500mm x 1000mm x 930mm, with a white powder-coated steel frame and linoleum-faced birch plywood tops. Linoleum is a popular choice for cutting table surfaces in education settings; it's durable, self-healing to a degree, and easy on fabric and pattern paper.
Before a single component goes into production, our drawing office produces detailed technical drawings and 3D renders for customer sign-off. You can see an example of the approved drawing for this project below.
